Triple zero roulette
Triple zero roulette adds a third green pocket to the wheel – here is what that changes and what it costs you.

What is triple zero roulette?
Triple zero roulette is a roulette game with three green pockets: the 0 pocket, the 00 pocket and the 000 pocket. The wheel has 39 pockets in total – the numbers 1 to 36 plus the three greens.
The 000 pocket often shows a casino logo instead of the digits. Triple zero wheels are found in some land-based casinos.
On the triple zero roulette wheel layout, the table has a wider green area at the top. It holds three boxes side by side: the 0 box, the 00 box and the 000 box. The rest of the table looks the same as on other wheels.
A third green pocket looks like a small detail, but it changes the math of every bet on the table.
Payouts and house edge
The 000 roulette game pays the same amounts as the European and American games. A straight bet pays 35 to 1, red or black pays 1 to 1, a dozen pays 2 to 1.
| Bet | Numbers | Pays | Chance to win | House edge |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Straight up One number | 1 | 35 to 1 | 2.56% | 7.69% |
| Split Two touching numbers | 2 | 17 to 1 | 5.13% | 7.69% |
| Street A row of three | 3 | 11 to 1 | 7.69% | 7.69% |
| Trio 0, 00, 000 | 3 | 11 to 1 | 7.69% | 7.69% |
| Corner Four numbers in a square | 4 | 8 to 1 | 10.26% | 7.69% |
| Six line Two rows, six numbers | 6 | 5 to 1 | 15.38% | 7.69% |
| Dozen 1–12, 13–24 or 25–36 | 12 | 2 to 1 | 30.77% | 7.69% |
| Column A column of twelve | 12 | 2 to 1 | 30.77% | 7.69% |
| Red or black Eighteen numbers | 18 | 1 to 1 | 46.15% | 7.69% |
| Even or odd Eighteen numbers | 18 | 1 to 1 | 46.15% | 7.69% |
| 1–18 or 19–36 Eighteen numbers | 18 | 1 to 1 | 46.15% | 7.69% |
The payouts stay the same, but the wheel has more pockets. That gap is where the house edge comes from:
- House edge on almost every bet: 7.69% (that is 1/13).
- Chance to hit red: 46.15%.
- Average loss: about $7.69 for every one hundred dollars you bet.
This is the highest house edge of the standard roulette wheels.
No betting system can lower the house edge. The more you bet over time, the closer your loss as a share of your total bets tends to get to the house edge.
The any green bet on all three zeros
Some tables offer a bet on all three green pockets, sometimes called the any green bet.
- It covers the 0 pocket, the 00 pocket and the 000 pocket.
- It pays 11 to 1.
- Your chance to win: 7.69%.
The house edge on this bet is also 7.69%. It is not a cheaper way to play – it is a different way to pay the same price.
Triple zero vs single and double zero
Each extra zero adds one more pocket the payouts do not count. Here is the house edge on each wheel:
| Wheel | Pockets | Edge on red/black | Edge on one number |
|---|---|---|---|
| European (single zero) | 37 | 2.70% | 2.70% |
| French (La Partage) | 37 | 1.35% | 2.70% |
| French (En Prison) | 37 | 1.39% | 2.70% |
| American (0 and 00) | 38 | 5.26% | 5.26% |
| American, Atlantic City rule | 38 | 2.63% | 5.26% |
| Triple zero (0, 00, 000) | 39 | 7.69% | 7.69% |
- European roulette (one zero): 2.70%.
- American roulette (two zeros): 5.26%.
- Triple zero roulette (three zeros): 7.69%.
If you want the lowest edge, look at French roulette with La Partage, where even-money bets cost 1.35%.
When you have a choice, the wheel with fewer zeros gives the casino a smaller edge.
