D = banker draws a third card, S = banker stands. Columns 0–9: the value of the player’s third card. With 8 or 9 on either side, nobody draws.
Player acts first, and Banker acts last. The third-card table lets Banker draw or stand depending on the card Player just drew.
Example: Banker has 3 and Player draws an 8 as a third card – Banker stands instead of drawing. Rules like this push Banker to 45.86% wins against 44.62% for Player.
Why the Banker commission exists
Without the 5% commission, Banker would win more often and pay the same as Player, so the bettor would have the edge. The commission turns that into a house edge of 1.06%.

Average loss per hundred dollars bet
- Banker: $1.06 lost on average.
- Tie: $14.36 lost on average – 14 times more than Banker.
- Tie on tables that pay more for it: house edge drops to 4.84%, still far above Banker.
Your real result tends to move closer to these averages as your total amount bet grows, which is why no system can beat baccarat.
