What Double Double Bonus pays extra for
The trainer above plays both games. The pay table below is per coin, with the max-coin royal.
| Double Double Bonus 10/6 | Pays per coin |
|---|---|
| Royal flush | 800 |
| Straight flush | 50 |
| Four aces with a 2, 3 or 4 | 400 |
| Four 2s, 3s or 4s with an A-4 | 160 |
| Four aces | 160 |
| Four 2s, 3s or 4s | 80 |
| Four of a kind | 50 |
| Full house | 10 |
| Flush | 6 |
| Straight | 4 |
| Three of a kind | 3 |
| Two pair | 1 |
| Jacks or better | 1 |
- Four aces with a two, three or four kicker (kicker = the fifth card) – the biggest pay below a royal flush (more than a straight flush).
- Four twos, threes or fours with an ace, two, three or four kicker – the next biggest.
- Two pair – pays only even money, half of what Jacks or Better pays.
More money sits in rare hands and less in common ones, so your balance swings up and down more.
Bonus Poker: the calmer version
| Bonus Poker 8/5 | Pays per coin |
|---|---|
| Royal flush | 800 |
| Straight flush | 50 |
| Four aces | 80 |
| Four 2s, 3s or 4s | 40 |
| Four of a kind | 25 |
| Full house | 8 |
| Flush | 5 |
| Straight | 4 |
| Three of a kind | 3 |
| Two pair | 2 |
| Jacks or better | 1 |
Bonus Poker pays extra for four aces and four twos, threes or fours, but has no kicker bonus. Two pair pays the same as in Jacks or Better, so the swings are smaller.

- Double Double Bonus, full pay: 100.07%

- Jacks or Better, full pay: 99.54%
These returns need perfect play over a very large number of hands. A short session can land far below them. See all versions on pay tables.
Example: three aces and a kicker
Your hand: A♠ A♣ A♦ 3♥ 9♣. Two holds to compare:
- Keep the three aces only.
- Keep the three aces and the 3 as a kicker.
The kicker raises the chance of the big four-aces-with-kicker pay but lowers the chance of four aces at all.
Enter this hand in the calculator with the Double Double Bonus pay table to see the exact return of each hold.
Example: aces and another pair
Your hand: A♠ A♦ K♣ K♥ 7♠. Two holds to compare:
- Keep both pairs (two pair).
- Keep the two aces only.
In Jacks or Better you always keep two pair. Here two pair pays only even money, so check both holds in the calculator or read the full strategy guide.
Questions
What is the difference between Bonus Poker and Double Double Bonus Poker?
Both pay extra for four aces and four twos, threes or fours. Double Double Bonus adds bigger pays when those four of a kinds come with a kicker, and pays only even money for two pair.
What is the return of full-pay Double Double Bonus?
With perfect play the full-pay version returns 100.07%, and the version with a lower full house pay returns 98.98%. These are long-run averages, and single sessions swing far from them.
Is Double Double Bonus harder than Jacks or Better?
The strategy has more special cases, such as kickers with three aces and pairs of aces next to another pair. The swings are also larger because two pair pays less.
Do I always keep two pair in Double Double Bonus?
Not always, because two pair pays only even money. Check the hand in the calculator to see which hold has the higher exact return.
